In an environment of drinking, drugs, and abuse
I easily accessed the fruits of the devil
Impurity, drunkenness, and fits of rage became the way I expressed
Not knowing how to decompress
The fruit of the spirit had no room to grow
My environment was unfitting
With a tarnished soil within me
I needed to be Renewed
I needed to turn to the Lord and be made new
When first following Christ our spirit is like a baby. God calls us to bear much fruit (John 15;8). We were not saved just to be saved. We are called to mature and grow in the spirit as God’s representatives. As we grow spiritually fruit will manifest. Many people say “it takes a village to raise a child” but most don’t consider the same is so for our spirit. What is your village like?
GOD DESIRES:
Jesus is our vine to his father God that will help us bear much fruit. Without favor we are unable to bear the fruit of the spirit (John 15;1-5). God has desires so his creation may bear the fruit of the spirit. A few of Gods’ desires for his creation are to:
- Walk by the spirit
- Love your neighbor as yourself
- To serve one another humbly in love
- To be free
o Galatians 5: 13-16
A PROCESS:
God is not of instant gratification but of process. Fruit does not grow on the vine the next day, but in time. As a believer we are to be rooted in Christ and that is not an instant conversion but a daily commitment. Our environment can either allow the seed within us to grow or die out. If not keeping watch and guarding our hearts, we may delay the process of Gods will. Daily we should try to become more like Christ so our heart and soul can be good soil for the seed planted within us (Proverbs 4; 20-23).
reading the bible daily, seeds are being planted.
Gods Fruit:
Believing, Trusting, and Waiting while within the process will only display more fruits of the spirit. A few examples of Fruit of the spirit are:
- Love
- Joy
- Peace
- longsuffering
- Self-control
- Gentleness
o Galatians 5; 22-24
The question:
How long will you be a spiritual newborn?
Gods Will is the way! Now ask are you willing to put in the work to grow spiritually?
