Is your oil light on?

Engine oil for a traditional car is the key ingredient to a healthy engine. Oil is designed to protect the engine components from damage as oil gives the engine endurance to work properly. If a car is without oil it will begin to make noises, cause parts to lock, and the car engine becomes damaged in a short amount of time. Yes, you can repair the engine if damaged but that takes time and is very expensive.

Just as the engine of a car, we also need oil. The spirit of God is upon us because of the Lords anointing oil (Isiah 61:1). Without oil we begin to do things we shouldn’t, things begin to become unclear, and we miss red flags. Oil is needed for the walk with Christ.

Throughout the bible we see the importance of the oil and how it gifts the body. A few things oil was used for:

  • Food during the consecration of the priests (Exodus 29)

  • For healing (Mark 6:13)

  • Traded as currency (2 Kings 4: 7)

  • Fuel for lamps (Matthew 25; 1-13)

  • To anoint man (1 John 2: 27)

Are you keeping a vigilant watch, or is your oil light on? “Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart” (Hebrews 12; 1-4). The hardest part has already been done through Jesus sacrifice. We are asked to endure knowing Gods will is being done. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9)

Rejoice! As believers we can rejoice through trials knowing Gods word is true and his will is being done (James 1:2-4).

Don’t give up on yourself as God did not give up on you

Activate the word:

I am not influenced by feelings of worry, anxiety, or fear, but I have love, power, and self-control. I have endurance to push through trials because God’s Spirit lives within me. I am strong, courageous and I cast all my cares on the Lord. I know that the Lords peace is guarding my heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
